Cleanroom Pass Boxes & Transfer Windows

Transfer materials between two controlled areas without moving people through the doorway, keeping the room envelope closed and traffic out of the corridor.

Mechanical and electronic interlock options, from a compact 600 mm wall window up to a floor-type unit for trolleys and bulk transfers.

Cleanroom Pass Boxes & Transfer Windows

Four configurations cover most material-transfer points: two mechanical interlock windows, a standard electronic interlock window and a floor-type unit sized for trolleys. All are built for installation into a cleanroom wall.

Construction & specifications

Controlled transfer through the wall

A pass box is a sealed chamber set into the wall between two areas, with a door on each side. The interlock is the part that matters: only one door can be open at a time, so the pressure relationship between the two rooms is never short-circuited by an open pathway.

Project coordination: Interlock type, size and mounting should be selected to suit the room classification and the transfer procedure defined in your facility's operating protocol. Certification, decontamination validation and pressure-holding performance are project-specific and must be confirmed against the specification for your cleanroom.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

A mechanical interlock uses a physical linkage between the two doors, so one door cannot be released until the other is closed and latched. An electronic interlock uses solenoid locks controlled by a circuit, which allows the door state to be indicated on a panel and, where required, tied into the room's access or monitoring system.

When the transfer load is moved on wheels. A bench-height window suits trays, instruments and packs handled by hand; a floor-type unit lets a trolley roll straight in without a lift, which matters for heavy or frequent bulk transfers.

Yes. The units are designed to be built into the wall panel and finished flush on both faces. Send us the wall thickness and construction, plus the largest item that has to pass through, and we will match the unit and opening.
