A modular power plant, not a monolithic box
Each S5 cabinet combines hot-swappable 3U power modules, an intelligent monitoring module, an STS transfer module and integral power distribution behind a 10-inch LCD color screen — up to 500 kW in a single 2000 mm cabinet. Online double-conversion topology delivers 0 ms transfer to battery or bypass; a temperature-compensated battery system sized from 200 AH groups carries ~30 minutes at full load. A built-in maintenance bypass keeps the load powered during service, and swapping a module instead of repairing a monolith cuts MTTR dramatically. A traditional UPS is a monolithic unit sized once, at installation. The S5 is built from hot-swappable 50 kW modules behind a shared frame: capacity, redundancy and runtime all scale by plugging in modules, and a failed module is swapped without powering down the load. That is what "true modular" means in practice.
The S5 range starts at a 300 kW cabinet, so it is specified for theatre blocks, imaging suites, ICU wings and whole-department loads rather than single rooms or small clinics. Within that range the cabinet is populated with only the 50 kW modules the present load requires, and further modules are added as imaging or IT load grows — so a phase-one department does not pay for phase-three capacity. For loads below 300 kW, ask us to size a room-level solution instead.
Routine checks run through the intelligent monitoring module; power modules, STS modules and batteries are all hot-swappable, so service never interrupts the protected load. A built-in maintenance bypass lets engineers isolate the UPS entirely while the load stays powered, and swapping a module rather than repairing a monolith keeps mean time to repair low.
