Hermetic Sliding Doors & Solid Surface Surgical Sinks at RSUP Ngoerah, Bali
ICARELIFE and local partner PT. Indosopha installed HPL hermetic sliding doors and wall-mounted solid surface surgical sinks across multiple operating rooms at Bali’s largest referral hospital.
Quick Answer
- ICARELIFE and PT. Indosopha installed hermetic sliding doors and solid surface surgical sinks at RSUP Ngoerah.
- HPL hermetic doors deliver a full seal with dual-motor drive and quiet operation for high-traffic ORs.
- Solid surface sinks use a seamless, one-piece mould to remove joints where bacteria accumulate.
- Installation was coordinated locally by PT. Indosopha, including staff training on maintenance.
Project Overview
RSUP Prof. dr. I.G.N.G. Ngoerah, formerly Sanglah Hospital, is Bali’s main referral center, operating over 1,700 beds and handling approximately 2 million patient visits per year.
The hospital’s operating rooms required an upgrade to meet stricter infection-control standards without disrupting an already high-volume surgical schedule. ICARELIFE partnered with PT. Indosopha, a local supplier with an established presence across Java and Bali hospital projects, to deliver and install the systems on-site.

Installed Systems
HPL Hermetic Sliding Doors
The doors use a Formica HPL surface, providing a non-porous and chemical-resistant finish. A dual-motor drive with built-in lead shielding delivers a full hermetic seal with quiet operation, suited to ORs with continuous staff and equipment movement.

| Specification | Detail |
|---|---|
| Surface | Formica HPL — seamless, non-porous, chemical-resistant |
| Drive system | Dual-motor with built-in 2.0 mm lead shielding |
| Seal performance | Full hermetic seal, quiet operation in high-traffic ORs |
Solid Surface Surgical Sink
The wall-mounted sink is moulded as a single piece, removing the joints found in standard stainless steel units. A sensor faucet and integrated splash guard support the scrub-in workflow.
| Specification | Detail |
|---|---|
| Material | Pure acrylic solid surface (Corian-equivalent, PMMA ≥ 35%) |
| Construction | Fully seamless, single-piece mould — no joints |
| Hygiene | 99.9% antibacterial rate, non-porous, repairable surface |
| Ergonomics | Wall-mounted, curved front edge, sensor faucet, integrated splash guard |
| Durability | ≥12 mm thickness, chemical-resistant, 15-year colour stability |

Delivery & Coordination
PT. Indosopha managed on-site installation, working directly with surgical staff to adjust door operating speed and brief the cleaning team on HPL surface maintenance.
“The new sinks clean in 30 seconds, and the doors glide smoothly — a clear improvement over the previous stainless steel units.”
— Dr. Ni Made Susilawati, Surgical Unit Head, RSUP Ngoerah
“We worked through the ORs with the surgical team, adjusted door speeds, and trained the cleaning staff on HPL maintenance directly on-site.”
— Mr. Rizal, Technical Director, PT. Indosopha
Project Outcome
The upgrade supports RSUP Ngoerah’s role as Bali’s primary referral hospital, including its position as a treatment destination for medical travelers from Australia, Europe, and Japan. Verified, jointless infrastructure in high-traffic ORs directly supports the hospital’s infection-control protocols at scale.
